What Are Some Of The Most Popular Non Shedding Dogs?
There are hundreds of breeds you can choose from if you’d like to get a dog. What are some of the most popular non shedding dogs? This article sums up a few that you might want to check out.
Poodles
Standard, toy and miniature Poodles are all considered non shedding. You got to watch them around the kids, though. Since they don’t need a lot of exercise, Poodles can be a good choice for apartment dwellers or people who are house bound. They will remain a loyal and devoted pet for all their days.
Even though its coat is considered non shedding, the Maltese is a toy breed that takes some maintenance. Since it is on the small side and is a rather fragile dog, it’s probably not the ideal pet for a household with small children. They are easy to train and will love to please you. Even though they are tiny, they have been known to chase much larger dogs. Since they will bark at just about any sound, the Maltese is a perfect watchdog.
Schnauzers
The Schnauzer comes in different sizes and even though it tends to lose a bit of its hair, it is pretty much a non shedding dog. These friendly dogs do well in households with children and are great watchdogs. The hair on their distinctive beards, as well as their leg hair, should be brushed regularly.
The Bichon Frise is an excellent choice for an allergy sufferer who is looking for a dog that sheds very little of its hair. This breed loves to be around people and also make for good watchdogs. Be sure to lay down the rules for this little guy or you may find him becoming the pack leader in your home.
There are more than a dozen breeds of non shedding dogs, including the Affenpinscher, the Cairn Terrier, the Havanese, the Italian Greyhound, the Lhasa Apso, and the Yorkshire Terrier. Many of them, like the ones described above, are ideal for living inside your home, especially if you are an allergy sufferer.
