Dog Training 101 by Aramis
Many people in the society we live in go on a quest to pursuit academic goals in universities, in order to excel at a certain skill and be recognized for them. It can be agreed that we as people are not born with the aibility to be a doctor, mechanic, lawyer or any other profesional career path. These skills are learned through a period of time of hard work and dedication. In a very similar way our house pets are not born with the basic obedience and abilities, they too must be trained.
Dog training is defined as the process of teaching a dog to perform certain actions in response to certain commands which the dog is trained to understand.
Dogs that are handled and petted by humansn, regularly during the first eight weeks of life are generally much more amenable to being trained and living in human households.
Most dogs by nature are expressive and communicate needs by biting, whining, and getting fidgety. There are a wide variety of tasks that can be assigned to our dogs like the following:
Detection Dogs,
Assistance dogs,
Herding dogs,
Livestock Dogs,
Guardian dogs,
Hunting dogs,
Police dogs,
Rescue Dogs,
and Schutzhund German otherwise known as “protection dog.”
To begin with, training starts the moment your pup comes home. Training your dog is something to be planned at the very earliest opportunity of your dog’s life. If possible it should start from an early stage, so that these tendencies do not become Dog Behavior problems. The most effective is for all those in the household to particippate in the training which serves for consistent commands, method and enforcement. Of couse there are other alternatives like kennels, pet stores or even independent trainers. Although these methods also work very well their no better feeling than having trained your dog, knowing that you brought out his best qualities and you shall be companions for life.
The number one factor that determines how well a dog excels in their abilities is based on their personal care. There are several training instruments such as toys, and training which also work very well together. Reinforcing the behavior is essential so the dog may adapt to them. In the event that the dog is fairly young and is still teething, be careful to not involve chewing until they are past that stage. No matter what assigned task your dog performs whether it may be perform tricks casually or for circus acts, being a guide dog to lead the blind, a Rescue Dog to find victims of a disaster,
or as an aid dog for hunting, always make sure proper training techniques are being used to keep your pet happy. Using resources such as articles, books, provide many great tips to teach dogs new and effective techniques, aswell as promote a healthy life.
Last but not least their is the valuable time spent with the dog. Dedicating sufficient time with your pet promotes a strong bond between him and his owner.. These activities can vary from taking the dog on family vacation, takng him to park, or simply just taking a nice and pleasent walk together. Training your puppy to walk nicely on a loose leash is important for safety reasons and also for the enjoyment of your walks together.
In conclusion, Training A Dog can require plenty of time and dedication, but with enough practice and good use of these basic tips, you will surely be on your way to raising a healthy and obedient dog partner. Remember that training your dog requires a lot of patience from your side and also the dog aswell. Obedience Training doesn’t solve all behavior problems, but it is the foundation for solving just about any problem.
